The law allowing hunters to utilize the estimated 190,000 miles and over 650,000 acres (conservative estimates) was in place since the 1830s. As of September 1st, 2023, Texas sportsmen and women will no longer legally be allowed to rifle or bow hunt our state’s navigable water ways (rivers/streams) and their beds.
